Right above them are the high clearance removable fender flares. The two-door is only offered with a hard top molded-in-color roof. “Hi, this is Don from South Bay Ford Lincoln, and this is the brand new Mach-E GT. It’s in a beautiful Grabber Blue, which is an exclusive color for the Mach E. You won’t see this on any other Ford. We have the GT package, so we have nice rims and bright red calipers. The GT pony emblem is exclusive to the Mach E because it’s an electric vehicle. You don’t need all the grille inlets, so it’s very special to the Mach E. It also has premium headlights and the premium GT sensor package. We have a beautiful racing stripe accent that goes through the entire side of the car. You can tell it’s an extended range battery version because of the ‘X,’ and it’s an all-wheel drive vehicle because of the ‘4’ next to the Mach-E name. This color is beautiful, especially in the sunlight. The premium GT logo on the back and the two-tone color scheme make it really stand out. Another notable feature on the exterior is the shiny cap mirror, which gives it a more premium look compared to the standard version.

Now, let’s talk about the power inlet for charging. We have level one, level two, and level three charging options. Level one is your standard wall socket, while level two is similar to your home dryer hookup, providing faster charging. At the bottom, we have the DC fast charger, which can give you about 40 minutes of charging time. These are highly sought after, and although they come at a premium, they’re worth it for peace of mind during your travels.

I want to highlight the symbols on the side again because they have important meanings. The ‘X’ indicates an extended range battery, so if it were a two-wheel drive car, it would have around 300 miles of range. For the all-wheel drive version, you’re looking at approximately 260 to 300 miles of range, leaning more towards 260 due to the engagement of all the wheels. The all-wheel drive not only enhances grip and safety but also improves performance. Having all the wheels powered means you’ll have a lot more fun, and it can get you out of trouble as well. We want to ensure you’ll keep coming back for more.

Now, one unique thing about all Mach-E models is that they don’t have a traditional engine. Instead, what you see here is the front trunk or frunk. In this later production vehicle, we don’t have the dividers that were present in the earlier series, so you have this entire area for storage. It even has a drain plug, allowing you to store wet items like ice, sodas, or meat for a barbecue. With the gasket and seal around the top, you can take your party with you and enjoy your beverages. It’s convenient and ensures you’re prepared for any occasion.

Moving on, opening the trunk is incredibly easy. Simply pull the lever twice, and it lifts up without any extra buttons to deal with. It’s super convenient. Another unique feature is the Mustang GT heritage emblem on the back, which pays homage to the original Mustang GTs. Additionally, they offer a practical feature where you can kick open the trunk if your hands are full or you need easy access. Closing it is just as effortless, making life a lot easier without struggling with every button on the car.

For added convenience, the hatch height can be adjusted to accommodate narrow garages or low ceilings. By holding down the button for a five-count, you can lower the height, and another press brings it back to the highest position. It’s a useful feature for people of different heights or when you encounter space constraints.

These doors are assisted, which is a great safety feature for both older individuals and young ones. When you push the button to open the door, it pops itself out to assist you, and when you close it, it automatically closes. It’s particularly helpful when you have little ones who want to get in and out without worrying about their fingers getting caught. The doors ensure their safety.

To determine if your vehicle has FordPass Connect, check the window sticker or add your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the app. If you see the “Activate Vehicle” button on the Home screen, it means your vehicle has an embedded modem.

Getting Started

We hope you are enjoying the FordPass app. If you aren’t using the FordPass app, getting started is easy. Here are the straightforward steps:

1. Download: The FordPass app from your Apple or Android device. The app will walk you through the following steps.

2. Create an account: When you open the app, it will ask you for your email and then ask for personal information like your name and address. It will send a confirmation to your email, which of course, you will need to verify, and then you can log into your account.

3. Enter vehicle: Once you log in, you will see an empty garage. To add your vehicle, hit the plus sign. You can manually enter or scan the VIN barcode on the label inside the door jamb. Scanning the VIN is easy; hit the ok screen for the scanner to pop up and scan the barcode. The app will show you when your vehicle is found.

4. Name your car: You can then give your car a nickname – maybe something full, like “Bud the Bronco.” You will see that your vehicle has been added to your garage. Just one more step to go.

5. Activate: Turn your vehicle on and hit the activate vehicle button in the app. Your in-car screen will load up and prompt you to finish activating your car. You will hit “yes” and “OK,” and your FordPass Connect will be activated in a few minutes.

Hi guys, welcome to South Bay Ford. I’m going to show you how to pair your phone to the Ford Explorer.

Alright guys, the first thing you’re going to do is unlock your phone and go into your settings. Click on your Bluetooth and make sure that your Bluetooth is turned on.

The next thing we want to do is hit “Add a Phone”. Search for your vehicle on your device and select it. Now we’re going to go back to the phone. You’re going to search for the Explorer on your phone, just click it.

Confirm that the PIN displayed on SYNC matches the digits on your screen. Click “Yes” and hit “Pair”. Now we are successfully paired.

It’s going to ask you if you would like to activate the 911 Assist, which is a great safety feature. I highly recommend it. You can download your contacts, so that way you can talk to the car and let it know who you want to call. Here, you’ll be able to see all of your contacts and your text messages.

Now that you’re completely connected, you can click “iPhone” and you’ll have access to all of your music. Now that we’re connected, I’m going to show you how to access your music from your phone.

So, you’re going to hit “Sources”. There, your iPhone will show it’s connected and, voila, your music from your phone is on your Ford Explorer.

The majority of tire performance comes from the tread. This isn’t surprising because the tread is the only part of the tire that connects to the road. The two most essential elements of the tread are:

1. Tread Compounds

Manufacturers use different types of rubbers and fillers to make the tire tread.

2. Tread Pattern

This is the groove design molded into the compounds. The most common tread pattern for consumer tires is a symmetric tread pattern where the outer and inner sides of the tread are mirror images of one another.

Types of Season Tires

The main difference between all-season, summer, and winter tires is their performance in different driving conditions.

All-Season Tires

All-season tires are good year-round in many climates. They have a firm rubber that stiffens at lower temperatures but does not soften when it starts to warm up. The treads have shallow grooves that function well on wet and dry pavement.

Summer Tires

Summer tires are designed for warm weather and can be used in the summer or year-round in Southern California. Summer tires handle wet and dry roads well if the temperature is above 45°F. The hard rubber construction with shallow tread offers a smooth, quiet ride but will lose traction in snow or ice, which is why they should only be used in warmer temperatures.

Winter Tires

While summer tires are more suited for the warmer months, winter tires work best at temperatures below 45°F. They handle well in dry and wet conditions, including snow and ice. The tread design pushes slush and snow away from the tire while you move down the road. Winter tires don’t last as long as summer or all-season tires because the rubber is softer. But on the plus side, in most cases, you only needed them for a few months out of the year.
